Rivers... the basic facts.

The last couple of classes have been spent examining political and social issues that are directly related to rivers and resource management. This study is a part of human geography. In order to make intelligent and sustainable policy decisions regarding our resources, it's important that we understand the basic science behind rivers.

Today's class was spent on an introduction to rivers and their structure. We watched a video called River Landforms, and filled in questions that gave us an overall idea of some of the important concepts and vocabulary of the unit. Here is the River Landforms handout from the movie.

There is no homework for tonight, however be ready to focus next day in class when we examine the Stages of a River, and the Roles (Jobs) of Rivers.
