Continental Glaciers

There are two types of glaciers - continental and alpine glaciers. It is important that we understand the features that belong to each of them, as well as the whether the features have been created by deposition or erosion.

During today's class we watched a short video clip that shows "glaciologists" at work deep inside 200 metre high glaciers, and then we examined notes on continental glaciers. You are responsible for all of the information between pgs. 277-288 in your Planet Earth text.

Activities:
1. Review section 12.2 (How ice moves)
2. Review section 12.4 (Alpine glacial features)
3. Review section 12.3 (Continental features)
4. Complete the continental glacial features assignment
5. Glacier Review

All of these activities must be complete by next day. We will be watching a powerpoint presentation, reviewing the answers, and discussing the importance of glaciers for humans.
