Coral Reefs and Marine Pollution

Playas and stuff.... today's class consisted of a short review concerning tides, waves, and fjords, and then we moved into expert group presentations. The five presentations were:

1. Longshore drift and sand spits
2. Tombolos and off-shore bars
3. Coral Reefs - the basics
4. Risks facing coral reefs
5. Marine Pollution - oil
6. Marine pollution - waste and sewage

It is important that you have a clear understanding of these basics topics - especially topics such as longshore drifts and marine pollution. Coral reefs notes can be found here, and notes on coastline deposition and marine pollution can be found in your study guide and your text. Next day will be a coastline review, and then the lab will be the following day. We will wrap up our unit next week, and then begin Weather and Climate.
