We are one week away from your test on Rivers and Glaciers - Chapter 12 & 13in your Study Guide. Last week we looked in depth and the basics about glaciers. I expect that you know:
- What glaciers are, and how they have been created
- Two types of glaciers, and real-life examples of where I would find them on the planet
- Examples of technology used to study glaciers
- Ways that glaciers erode (abrasion/plucking)
- The depositional features evident from glaciers (ex. moraine)
- The visible features of continental glaciers and alpine glaciers
- Here is the link to the Powerpoint that will be helpful for this
We also began looking at some of the risks facing glaciers including melt due to climate change at the end of last week. We will examine the benefits and risks facing glaciers this week, as well as do some review.
Dates of Test - Monday, Feb 1 - Block 2 & Tuesday, Feb 2 - Block 6.
Here is the glacier features powerpoint to help you study and review.
Here are also some notes on Glaciers to help you, and a glacier review handout.
