Just a reminder that your test is coming up on Tuesday/Wednesday of this week on our second unit of the year - Tectonic Processes.
You have the outline for the test, but here are some powerpoints and handouts that may be helpful to you.
Here are the two powerpoints that we have used this unit including one on Plate Tectonics that may be helpful to review:
Plate Tectonics Review
Volcano Basics
Natural Disasters vs. Natural Hazards
Here are some handouts that may be helpful for you...
Volcanoes Notes
Tectonics Review Questions
Plate Boundary Review Questions
Learning Outcomes for Earthquakes - Chapter 8
Earthquake preparedness checklist
The following video clips were used during class - you may want to watch them again and review.
Volcanoes 101 - National Geographic
Earthquakes 101 - National Geographic
A Day in Pompeii -- Simulation
A cool video of flowing lava
BBC - Tsunami documentary - excellent
A significant section of the test will focus on technology and advances being made in the field by seismologists and volcanologists. This is one example of something current in the field.
Drones Sacrificed for Volcano Video - National Geo
And if you want to lose 4 minutes of your life, feel free to watch someone put their Iphone 6 in flowing lava to see what might happen. I'm embarrassed to say I watched it to the end.
Test will be combo of MC & short answer but be prepared for an extended long answer section where you can show your stuff!
