Geo-Literacy: Everything is Connected in Cycles

Today's class focused on the idea that everything on the planet is interconnected, and functions within interdependent cycles.

So far in the course we have explored, the themes of geography, the nature of the 4 spheres, and the concept of geo-literacy skills like cartography and reading topographic maps.  Today's class is based on the notion of the Gaia Hypothesis.  The notion that:  the organic and inorganic elements of the Earth work together to create a self-regulating system that maintains the conditions on Earth, for life to survive.

In order to see this up close, we watched Episode 1 of the series One Strange Rock called Gasp, and thought about the following questions.  Here is the handout that we used to go along with the movie.

If you missed class, please try and watch the episode prior to Friday's class.

***Reminder that if you will be attending the Climate Strike on Friday, that this is awesome, and I am proud of you.  Please check in with me and let me know you will be attending.  You will be excused from our activity we do in class - but will be expected to tell me about your experience =)
