Today's lesson focused on an introduction to Cartography - the art and science of map making. We explored different historical maps, and the notion that maps are subjective, they tell stories, and are representative of our perceptions of the world.
We then practiced doing some mental maps (of our route to school), and also reviewed our mapping skills. Here is the Mapping Assignment - it requires the blue atlas in the classroom, and also your study guide. Here is the Cartography powerpoint that went alongside the mapping assignment.
