Happy Tuesday. Today we did the following:
1. Reviewed the results of the Canadian election
2. Reviewed plate boundaries and features on a world map - this will be on our test. We are trying to practice our physical geography and link it to specific places on the planet.
3. Discussed the principles of mountain building or Orogenesis, and discussed the process of folding, faulting and volcanism. In particular, we examined the Himalayas as fold mountain ranges, Hawaii and the Cascade Mountain ranges as volcanic arcs, and we discussed the East African Rift Valley, and the building of the Mid-Ocean ridge.
4. We also watched the first 15 minutes of Planet Earth, Episode 2 - Mountains.
