Week 1 ended by exploring the idea that all of the spheres were interconnected, and emphasized the fact that studying Geography involves applying the concepts that we learn about in class.
We finished off the week by heading outside on a nature walk, and finding evidence of the four spheres in action. We also explored the interconnections between the spheres and the cycle of oxygen by watching Episode 1 of One Strange Rock - called Gasp.
Last, we explored the case study of the 1783 Volcanic Explosion in Iceland, which greatly impacted global weather patterns, monsoon cycles, and global temperature patterns. We took a closer look at the connection between historical events like the French Revolution, and the Icelandic explosion.

- Want to know more about the explosion of Vesuvius, in Pompeii, Italy? We discussed this in class, in our discussion about the ways in which the lithosphere harms humans.
