Hey folks, we've survived the first 2/3 of Unit 2, and are now moving onto Migration. Here is some updates on Unit 2 - Demography. Note that you have to be logged in to Office 365 to view the files.
- READING GUIDE - Here is the Reading Guide for Unit 2 - please aim to have it complete by Friday, October 6th, so that you can show me/email me your work.
- STUDY GUIDE NOTES - Helpful outline of the key concepts for this unit. I think it's pretty great summary.
- KEY CONCEPTS THAT NEED TO BE REVIEWED - The following concepts were not addressed in class:
- Different types of density - and what each one represents
- Issues and critiques of the demographic transition model
- Theories on Overpopulation - specifically Malthus, Boserup, and Neo-Malthusian theories

- Great video that discusses the theories of Overpopulation at length - please watch!
MR SINN'S UNIT 2 REVIEW - This is a super helpful review of all of Unit 2 - including migration. Please ensure that you have watched this over the course of our whole unit. It's long! Set aside some time for it.
OVERPOPULATION - These two videos from Kurtzegatzt are pretty helpful, and are written from a European perspective, rather than an American viewpoints. You might find them interesting:
