Plate Boundaries: The Specifics

The last two classes have been spent investigating the specifics of the 4 major plate boundaries that we will be studying in this class:

  • Converging - Subduction Zones
  • Converging - Collision Zones
  • Diverging Plate Boundaries
  • Transform Fault Boundaries
We have spent time reading through the first 3 chapters in the Study Guide - and have completed the notes and diagrams alongside this.  Today we reviewed the notes, and also examined this powerpoint to help us study, and give us visuals of the different types of boundaries and features.

We also watched this video Plate Boundaries Explained and completed an "Oreo Cookie" Tectonics lab that helped us understand the idea of faulting and folding.

Next class we will be linking the study of plate boundaries, to actual world map locations around the world.
