Folks! We made it to the end of the first unit of AP Human Geography! Only 6 more to go =)
For each unit, I will be creating a post that you can refer to, that summarizes the key concepts of the Unit and also identifies which topics, vocab terms, etc. that you will need to study.
Key Things to Do This Unit:
- Complete the Chapter 1 Reading Guide - take your notes, review the different case studies
- Complete the Progress Check MC in AP Classroom
- Watch Mr. Sinn's Unit 1 Overview (20 min) - super helpful overview!
- Key Vocab Terms - Unit 1
- You might also want to start recording the names of different theories and key names that you will want to word associate with themes
- QUIZLET - Search AP Human Geo Unit 1 and ready made flash cards are there for you to study
Hot Topics You Will Have to Study for AP Course
- As always, there will be some topics that we didn't cover in class, that you will have to review yourself:
- Calculating Map Scale (rarely asked on exam, but a can be a bit tricky)
- Different types of projections (Gall-Peters, Azimuthal, Mercator, Robinson, and others)
- Types of Regions (Formal, Functional, Vernacular/Perceptual)
- Time Distance Decay
- We will discuss Diffusion and types of Diffusion in Unit 3 - don't stress!
